AI Architect

We are currently looking for an AI Architect to join our AI, Analytics & Agents business area in Finland.

Location: Finland

Experience level: Senior

At Solita AI, Analytics & Agents community, we support our customers throughout their entire AI journey, from early ideation to scaling AI adoption across the whole organization. We believe that impactful AI solutions are created through multidisciplinary collaboration, combining business and process expertise, cutting-edge technology & AI expertise, and human-centered design. Generative AI and the application of large language models are an increasingly important part of our solutions.

We take a holistic approach to our customers’ challenges and help them build sustainable, production-ready AI solutions that deliver value in real use cases.

Your role in a nutshell

As an AI Architect, you take lead responsibility for designing, developing, and driving production‑grade AI solutions for our customers. You combine hands‑on architectural work with project‑level technical leadership, acting as both the solution architect and a senior technical contributor.

In this role, you own the overall AI solution architecture: mapping the current state of data, analytics and AI capabilities, defining future target architectures, identifying opportunities, and creating concrete, actionable roadmaps. You will be involved in all phases of the project, from ideation, and solution design to production deployment, and continuous development.

Your work places a strong emphasis on LLM-based and generative AI solutions that are embedded into real business processes.  You ensure that AI solutions are designed as part of a broader IT and enterprise architecture with clear attention to security, scalability, reliability and responsible AI.

You lead AI architecture work in large projects and across teams, collaborating closely with Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, Cloud Architects, data specialists and business stakeholders. While you are expected to be hands-on when needed, your key responsibility is to own the overall AI solution architecture, make critical technical decisions, and ensure high‑quality outcomes.

In addition, you contribute to Solita’s technical leadership in applied AI by shaping best practices, supporting pre‑sales and solution planning, mentoring colleagues, and influencing how production‑grade AI is delivered across customer projects.

We will discuss the exact scope and focus of your role based on your experience, skills, and interests. Depending on your level of experience and responsibility, your monthly salary will range from 5800 € to 6800 €.

In practice your work includes:

  • Taking technical lead responsibility in AI projects, acting as a hands‑on AI Architect and guiding the overall solution from concept and implementation to production.
  • Working closely with customers in a consultative role, translating business needs and constraints into concrete technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Designing and developing LLM‑based and generative AI solutions, such as knowledge and information retrieval systems, agent‑based workflows, systems that increase the level of automation in (customer) service processes and document processing solutions.
  • Defining end‑to‑end AI system designs, including data flows, model orchestration, system integrations, evaluation, guardrails, and human‑AI interaction.
  • Designing cloud‑based AI and LLM platforms, primarily on Azure, leveraging services such as Azure AI / ML, Databricks, and cloud‑native infrastructure.
  • Leading architectural decisions related to scalability, security, cost efficiency, reliability, and responsible AI, in alignment with broader IT and enterprise architecture.
  • Participating in pre‑sales and early project phases, supporting solution scoping, technical proposals, and architecture planning in collaboration with sales.

What helps you succeed in this role

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing AI/ML solutions in production environments, especially with generative AI and LLM technologies.
  • Solid experience in mapping out architecture-level AI solutions for both business decision-makers and the implementing experts in an understandable way.
  • You understand deeply the logic and practicalities related to AI solutions, and non-deterministic solutions in general, and their successful development.
  • Hands-on experience as an AI Architect, ML Architect, Lead AI/ML Engineer or similar role, with clear responsibility for architectural decisions.
  • Experience with generative AI and agent architectures, including LLM technologies (e.g. Azure OpenAI / Foundry, Databricks Agent Bricks, LangChain, Semantic Kernel), RAG methods, and multi-agent solutions.
  • Experience in production deployment and solution operations using technologies such as Azure AI/ML Services, Databricks, MLOps/LLMOps, evaluation and guardrail tools.
  • Architectural and hands-on experience with cloud-based AI platforms (Azure, AWS), including building cloud infrastructure using IaC tools.
  • Programming skills, especially with Python but other languages such as Java or C# are also beneficial.
  • Ability to act as a trusted consultant, guiding and challenging our customers and collaborating effectively with teams.
  • Passion for solving customer needs and exploring the latest AI technologies and methods (e.g. multi-agent architectures and collaboration mechanisms, self-optimizing AI agents, agent skills, advanced knowledge and memory management solutions, etc.)
  • Fluent working proficiency in English.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical experts and business stakeholders and to lead discussions around architecture
  • Solita's values (caring, casualness, courage, and passion) align with what you value in your work community and colleagues.

What do we offer?

  • Challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects with a wide variety of clients, from global companies to public organizations.
  • A diverse community of exceptional professionals who love to learn, challenge and support each other.  You won’t be left alone.
  • A relaxed, caring and trust-based culture where you can be yourself.
  • A workplace with both freedom and responsibility. That’s what our employees see as one of the biggest benefits at Solita.
  • Freedom to work either remotely in Finland, in our customers’ premises, or in our offices across Finland – which option suits best at a given time.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and cross-unit learning opportunities to grow your expertise through Solita's multidisciplinary collaboration, long-term client work, or domain specialization (e.g., Retail, Industrial, Health).
