VentureOne, the Advanced Technology Research Council’s venture builder, is marking its first European product deployment through a new agreement with Solita, the European AI and data transformation company. Having cooperated with the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) since 2020, Solita has contributed its expertise to VentureOne’s secure technologies, such as Saluki — a high-security flight control and mission computing system and mesh networking technologies for drones. This agreement enables the integration of VentureOne’s secure technologies into autonomous solutions for public safety, security, and infrastructure projects, as governments across Finland and Northern Europe strengthen the resilience of critical systems.
“Contributing to the security of Europe’s critical infrastructure is a mission we are deeply invested in. By combining VentureOne’s state-of-the-art technological solutions with our long-standing expertise in secure systems, data, AI, and connectivity, we are well positioned to help build safer and more resilient societies”, said Ossi Lindroos, CEO of Solita.
“VentureOne exists to put made-in-the-UAE deep tech to work driving tangible positive change on an international scale,” said Chris Walton, VentureOne’s Senior Director. “Solita and Unikie bring extensive expertise in integrating smart technology and autonomy into critical infrastructure projects, making them an ideal European deployment partner for us. We’re just getting started on what these partnerships will deliver.”
Solita’s customers in the Defence & Security domain include, for example, Patria, NATO, the Finnish Border Guard and Erillisverkot – State Security Networks Group Finland. Solita also serves several critical infrastructure operators in the industrial, mobility, maritime, retail and energy sectors.
Building on long-term commercial relations
The cooperation is supported by a recent agreement between Business Finland and the Advanced Technology Research Council which among other things will also explore applications of GPS-Less, a cutting-edge navigation solution that does not require GPS signals to operate. The President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates in November. Finland and the United Arab Emirates have longstanding strong political and commercial relations. The UAE is currently Finland’s largest export market in the region and a major hub for Finnish businesses in the Middle East.
