Solita Estonia’s operations have moved to local ownership and will continue to operate in a new, independent Estonian company called DataSky Oü, as a partner of Solita. The new company will continue operations in the current Tallinn and Tartu locations. The day-to-day operations, client projects, and leadership will continue without disruption during and after the transition.
Close collaboration continues
For Solita, the move reflects its European growth strategy. Since establishing the Estonian operation in 2017 as its first international operation, Solita Group has grown to operate in ten markets in Europe, both organically and by acquisitions, the last ones in Poland and the UK. Earlier this year, the company announced the expansion of its strategic EU-shoring excellence centre in Poland. Solita currently employs more than 2,100 AI, data, software development, and cloud professionals in Europe.
Until now, the 30-strong Estonian team has been part of Solita Finland. Solita currently employs over 1,200 employees in Finland.
“I wish our highly skilled Estonian crew all the best on their independent journey. We will continue to work closely together with a joint goal of ensuring that our customers gain true value and impact of their AI-driven data transformation journeys,” said Timo Honko, Executive Vice President of Solita Finland.
For DataSky, operating independently will open new opportunities to accelerate and expand, while continuing to serve current customers. Märt Ridala, who has led Solita’s Estonian operations since 2017, sees strong potential for the highly skilled team in data, cloud platforms and software development.
“Moving forward as an independent, Estonian-owned company in the AI era, will allow us to seize new customer and cooperation opportunities. I am immensely proud of our talented, multidisciplinary team, who are committed to continue serving our clients with the same relentless dedication as before,” commented Märt Ridala, the founder and Managing Director of the newly established DataSky taking over Solita’s Estonian operations.
The new company will continue to co-operate with Solita and its vast technology partner network, including, for example, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
