Meet our People of Solita. We have over 2000 employees in various locations with different skills and backgrounds – each with a story to share about what they do and what inspires them. This is Brice, our Data Engineer Consultant, based in Leuven, Belgium.

From development to the world of data

My adventure into the world of data started four years ago. Originally, I went on a journey in technology, specializing in web development. However, I shifted during my third year when I undertook an internship related to IoT, sparking my interest in the vast and intricate world of data.

Training and early experiences

To prepare myself for this new direction, I underwent a training program. This training, much like Solita’s Data Academy, laid the foundation of my data engineering knowledge.

Following this, I embarked on my first mission where I had to fully work in English which was a first for me, before getting others with different clients in different industries, each contributing to my growth and expertise.

Solita: Finding the right workplace

Two years ago, I made the decision to join Solita. The decision was driven by more than just a career move; it was about finding a workplace with a culture aligned with my values.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working with great colleagues, and I’m continually delighted to be part of the Solita family.

Current mission and remote collaboration

My current mission with my customer has been particularly thrilling. I work with a close colleague and, as the only data engineers on the team, we have significant technical responsibilities. Our daily mission revolves around the meticulous process of gathering data from diverse sources and consolidating it into Snowflake, our trusted data warehouse, to respond to the company’s data structuring needs.

To streamline our tasks, we utilize tools such as Flics and Matillion for ETL processes. These tools facilitate the integration of data into Snowflake, laying the groundwork for the development team to craft insightful dashboards and reports.

What’s unique about our collaboration is that we operate fully remotely, with our client based abroad.

One of the standout aspects of our work is the collaboration with development teams in other countries. Despite the initial differences in culture, we’ve successfully established a strong partnership, all driven by a shared goal: the well-being and success of the company.

If you’re curious to know more or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Before signing off, I’d like to leave you with a memory that holds a special place in my Solita journey – my first event in the Ardennes. It was a truly memorable international experience that brought our team closer together.

In case you want to meet Brice and become his future colleague, don’t hesitate to apply to our positions!
