Hiab

Ensuring seamless integrations with expert-driven DevOps

Hiab (then Cargotec), underwent a major transformation period in 2024 –2025. The company needed a partner to enhance integration development and support ensuring seamless automation, and secure the continuous operation of mission-critical systems. Solita introduced an expert-driven DevOps model that includes 24/7 support with continuous development and delivery, guaranteeing uninterrupted business processes, and optimising system performance globally.

Hiab (former Cargotec) provides load handling solutions globally. In April 2023 (as Cargotec), the company announced its plan to separate its businesses Kalmar and Hiab into two world-leading standalone companies. In addition, according to Cargotec’s Board of Directors decision that company’s third business area MacGregor would not be part of the company portfolio in the future, Cargotec announced the sale of MacGregor in November 2024 (the transaction was closed in July 2025).

As a final step of the company transformation, as per the AGM 2025 decision, the name of the company changed to Hiab Corporation in March 2025. Hiab started its independent listed company journey on Nasdaq Helsinki on 1 April 2025.

During this transformation period in 2024-2025, former Cargotec faced the challenge of modernizing its integration development while ensuring the uninterrupted operation of its critical systems. The company sought a partner that could accelerate integration and API development, streamline automation, and safeguard the production use of business-critical systems across multiple divisions. The stakes were high—any downtime in these systems could lead to significant financial losses and disruptions in global sales, logistics and manufacturing.

The then Cargotec company needed an integration partner that would not only unify system operations but also enhance agility, responsiveness, and continuous development and operations.

The expert DevOps proved to be an effective methodology for managing operations at our scale. We’ve been able to minimise expensive downtime of our systems, and keep our focus on our core business.
