To understand how our people see the future of technology, we ran an internal survey. We asked Solitans to share their views on the most important tech trends, the values shaping the future, and what keeps them motivated to learn. Here’s what we discovered!
Building tomorrow’s tech landscape
Our community sees AI, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, alongside edge and IoT, sustainable technology and regulatory environments as the most transformative forces across industries. These technologies aren’t only reshaping how businesses operate but also influencing broader societal structures. Values like security, sustainability and transparency guide our work as we explore and apply future technologies.
Technology doesn’t just improve processes or enable automation. It changes how people interact, how decisions are made, and how organisations define value. At Solita, we see ourselves as guides through this change. Because we strive to be trusted partners, understanding the capabilities of emerging technologies and the human perspective behind them is of utmost importance. Our pride is to help customers recognise what is meaningful, sustainable and worth building.
Adopting emerging technologies also comes with challenges. Resistance to change remains a common barrier both at the individual and organisational levels. Many companies struggle with skill gaps, legacy systems and uncertainty around how new technologies fit into their operations. There is often pressure to follow trends without a clear understanding of the business value. Concerns around security, ethics and regulation are growing, especially in fast-moving areas like AI.
Success lies in finding the right balance between experimentation and responsibility. New technologies should solve real problems, not add unnecessary complexity. By staying focused on value, impact and responsible choices, we can help shape a better digital future.
AI isn’t a one-size-fits-all
AI is the biggest tech trend right now, and it’s not a surprise that it stood out in our survey responses. AI is expected to become a standard part of both business and everyday life.
On a personal level, people expect AI to take over repetitive tasks and workflows. It’s seen as a tool that can support better decision-making, speed up learning, and act as a smart assistant or sparring partner. From a business perspective, AI will improve customer service, speed up development, support content creation, and even enable new business models.
AI is closely connected with other tech trends. It strengthens cybersecurity, supports the development of autonomous systems, and is becoming a standard part of cloud platforms and automation. As AI continues to grow in importance, so do the responsibilities that come with it.
Our community also raised concerns. These include risks related to security, misinformation, environmental impact, and ethical use. The energy use of large models is driving more interest in sustainable solutions and green technology. AI also brings up broader questions about the future of work, economic fairness, and how to build trust in the tools we use. Some even see AI playing a role in addressing societal issues, such as loneliness and social isolation.
We are still figuring out the role AI will play in the long term. Although generative AI has sparked big expectations, many recognise it’s still evolving, particularly in areas that call for accuracy and deeper reasoning. Large language models often get called out for making things up, producing low-quality content, and sounding overly confident even when they’re wrong. It’s clear that a human needs to stay in charge.
What keeps us learning and growing
Solitans are curious and excited about learning new things. What really keeps us motivated is knowing that we can create real value for our customers, businesses, and society. Many of us also care deeply about using technology in a responsible way, with sustainability and ethics in mind.
When we think about the most important skills for the future, it’s clear that it’s not only about tech. Sure, things like AI, cloud and platform engineering, cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI-assisted software development are high on the list.
We’re excited about how technology can streamline work, take care of repetitive tasks, and help teams work better together. At the same time, personal skills matter more than ever. Things like critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and knowing how business works make a real difference.
Looking ahead together
As we look to the future, one thing is clear: technology will continue to evolve, and so will the ways we work with it. We are committed to fostering a tech-driven community that values learning, ethical development, and real-world impact. By staying informed and engaged, we can shape the future of technology in a way that benefits everyone.
