The Nordic technology, data and design company Solita continues to expand in Germany. The company grew its German operations significantly in 2022 and will now open new offices in Munich and Berlin. Solita continues to recruit data, cloud, and design specialists in Germany.

In March 2023, the company will open new offices in Munich (Königsplatz campus) and in Berlin (Podium-Pressehaus, Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse). The company grew almost 70 % in personnel in 2022, despite the fiercely competitive talent market in IT, and has won several new customers in Germany. “Our culture of combining cutting-edge tech know-how with a Nordic culture of employee wellbeing and work-life balance continues to attract talent in the highly competitive German market. We are continuously looking for the brightest minds in software development, data, and connectivity,” says Florian Disson, Country Director of DACH at Solita.

Employee satisfaction: Top 5 percent of IT consulting firms in Europe

Solita measures the satisfaction of its employees every month with the recognized Engagement Net Promoter Score. The company is one of the Top 5 percent within the IT consulting industry in Europe with an eNPS of 8.7, in Germany even 9.1.

Cultural strengths contributing to the high satisfaction scores include the high level of trust new employees are shown from day one, a high degree of freedom, the availability of tools to use this freedom, and autonomy in decision-making. “With us, the inidual team members take responsibility for each other. We also value personal development and employee well-being – so no unpaid overtime or 60-hour weeks that sooner or later lead to quiet quitting,” states Florian Disson.

Germany on the third of four maturity levels in data management

Solita is one of the forerunners in modern data management, and its customers include companies such as Colruyt Group, Kone, UPM, Fortum, and Proximus. With Solita’s comprehensive view on how companies across Europe use data in decision-making, Disson estimates Germany to be on the third of four maturity levels.

“The first wave of data science was about making data usable in business decision-making. In the second, there was an understanding that data must be made more usable by making it available on platforms and not hidden in silos,” says Florian Disson. “Many companies in Germany are currently in the third phase, which is about improving the quality of the collected data, and are interested in better data governance and data management.” According to Disson, also areas such as predictive maintenance, advanced analytics and edge computing are in demand in Germany.

According to Disson, only then can the fourth stage take off: developing new business models with the processed data, and introducing data services and products, machine learning and automation. “Extremely successful new business models based on data are now possible,” summarizes Disson.

Solita now has over 660 employee shareholders

At the beginning of the year, Solita successfully completed its third round of employee participation. The opportunity to invest in the company was open to all of the company’s 1,600 employees in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and Estonia. More than 660 of them are now employee shareholders after the third round. The company carried out its first employee shareholder program in 2018.
