Solita, the leading technology, strategy and design company, has announced that over 300 of its employees have invested in the company. Now nearly half of Solita’s employees are also shareholders. They join the Apax Digital Fund, which became Solita’s principal shareholder earlier in the year to accelerate the internationalisation of the rapidly growing company.
The opportunity offered to all employees to become shareholders is exceptional in its scope for a private equity fund, and the largest arrangement of this type in the Apax Digital Fund’s history. The original goal was to have 100 employee shareholders. However, Solita employees were so enthusiastic that the number of new shareholders increased to more than 300.
“All of our successes start with our people. We wanted to offer our employees an opportunity to participate in our company’s continued growth. We were pleased that Apax Digital was fully on board with this approach when we partnered with them earlier in the year”, said Jari Niska, CEO of Solita. Members of the company’s management also continue as shareholders.
“It is wonderful that so many of our employees wanted to commit to building the future of Solita in this way. Our shared goal is to build an internationally successful company we can all be proud of. Our passion to change everyday lives, industries and the world is the key to our success.”
“We are delighted that so many of Solita’s team have chosen to join us on this exciting new chapter in the company’s development. Their decision to invest personally in the company is a reflection of our shared confidence in Solita’s future”, said Marcelo Gigliani and Mark Beith of Apax Digital.
In recent years, Solita has grown rapidly and profitably. Its net sales have nearly tripled over the past five years. Solita employs 700 specialists in strategic consulting, service design, digital services, analytics and cloud services in Helsinki, Tampere, Oulu, Tallinn and Stockholm. Its customers include Assa Abloy, Amer Sports, DNA, Finnair, Fortum, Metso and the Finnish Transport Agency.
Solita will continue to grow and is currently recruiting experts in software development, data, service design, cloud technologies and integration, among other areas.
The Apax Digital Fund, a technology-focused growth equity fund advised by global private equity firm Apax Partners, acquired a majority stake in Solita in June 2018 to help the company accelerate growth in Finland and expand internationally.
