The Academy path contains both training sessions that are common to all tracks and also track specific content. You don’t have to know which track would best suit you; our recruiters are able to find a potential track for you based on your skills and experience.

1. Data Engineer track

You will learn the basics and more of what data engineering in Solita means. We will cover cloud platforms and their services, databases, data development tools and methodologies as well as more general level consulting skills.

An ideal Data Engineer has a good combination of soft consulting skills and technical skills. We reformulate business requirements into technical requirements and develop and deploy solutions that meet the set business requirements.

The goal of the academy is to prepare you for the customer assignments where you will put your new skills into practice. Together with a capable team, you will build new value creating solutions for our customers.

2. Master Data Management Consultant track

You will learn the basics needed to work as a Master Data Management Consultant in Solita. Above all, Solita’s MDM Consultants are experts in the MDM system implementations, such as Semarchy xDM, who works at the interface between business and IT. MDM system implementation includes for example tasks related to business requirement design, data modelling, data process development, user interface and API development.

An ideal MDM Consultant has a good combination of soft consulting skills and technical skills. Quite often the solution is not only fixing the technology but the business processes behind the data issues. Therefore MDM Consultants need to understand the business environment and its requirements and translate them into a language of data.

In the academy, you will gain knowledge of master data management concepts and theory, understanding of business environments and enterprise architectures, and more general consulting skills to prepare you to work in our customer assignments as part of Solita teams.

On the technical side, you will get your hands into modern MDM tools and everything related to it such as data modelling, process modelling and development, databases, cloud platforms, user experience and interface design, API management and integration patterns, version control, deployment pipelines, etc. As integrations are playing a huge role in modern master data management we will be cooperating with the Connectivity track during the academy to cover those areas.

Take a look at an example of an MDM project from Verna’s story here.

3. Analytics Consultant track

You will learn what the versatile role of Analytics Consultant may include and how it relates to other roles in the context of Solita’s data business. We will cover requirements of engineering, dashboard design, some of the widely adopted Business Intelligence (BI) tools as well as more general level consulting skills.

In our projects, Analytics Consultants plan, design and implement Business Intelligence (BI) projects where value is driven from data. We reformulate business requirements into technical requirements and develop and deploy solutions that meet the set business requirements.

We use several different BI tools and supporting technologies to create well-designed reports, dashboards and apps, which will deliver business insights and facilitate the data-driven decision making for the customer’s end-users. We also plan the introduction and implementation of new BI tools and assist end-users in their functional and technical use.

The goal of the academy is to prepare you for the customer assignments where you will put your new skills in practice in a team of data experts with complementary skills!

4. Integration Specialist track

You will get to know the basics of project work, customer work and technical API & integration development. We will talk about ITIL and problem-solving in integration services. You will learn time estimation skills and we’ll help you to understand what means quality in integration deliveries.

Customer service orientation is an integral part of knowledge sharing. How to work with the customers, how to serve the customer in the best possible way, and how to make sure customers are getting the service they are paying for. We’ll also share the basics of Connectivity offering to help you to sell new ideas and thoughts to customers. We will talk about documentation and presentation skills.

It takes a long time to gain senior-level competence with integration and API development but during the academy, we’ll help you to get started. We will share information related to maintenance and development with selected integration technologies. You will learn the importance of a centralised integration platform. You will get to know the basics of databases, messaging standards and communication protocols related to integration environments. We will share with you an understanding of the most common iPaaS and SaaS solutions. We will talk about version management, error handling and integration architectures.
