The digitalization of work, a global shortage of software developers, and the need for rapid and cost-effective software development have accelerated the growth of low-code business worldwide, including at Solita. For us, this may mean doubling our low-code business in revenue in 2023. What will it mean for you?

Low-code software development is a visual and efficient, automation-assisted way to develop customized applications for business needs – helping to solve the increasing shortage of skilled software development professionals.

If it can be automated, it will be

Automation and AI are the new black of the season, and low-code opens a whole new field of opportunities for companies looking for streamlining business processes. Research company Gartner predicts that by 2025, up to 70% of new applications developed by enterprises will utilize low-code technology. Solita is helping companies and organizations to take advantage of this change. We have been a partner of the market-leading low-code platforms OutSystems and Microsoft Power Platform since 2019. In 2022, OutSystems awarded Solita with the “Rising Star” partner award.

The worldwide market for low-code development technologies is projected to total $26.9 billion in 2023, an increase of 20 % from 2022, according to the latest forecast from Gartner, Inc. According to Gartner, the rise in business technologists and a growing number of enterprise-wide hyperautomation and composable business initiatives will be the key drivers accelerating the adoption of low-code technologies through 2026.

A breakthrough for low-code development

Solita, founded in 1996, has long been a strong player in the conventional software development market in public and private sectors in Northern Europe, and with over 400 passionate software developers we have the skillsets needed to stay on top of technological developments and help our customers solve even the trickiest problems. With low-code, we have again expanded our capabilities, and low-code development has become one of the new growth drivers at the company.

“Many of our new and long-term customers have been delighted to learn that a traditional software, design, and data company like Solita has built low-code capabilities. Low-code breakthrough offers new possibilities for organizations digitalizing their businesses and processes, and it complements our capabilities well”, says Jasmo Hiltula, Head of Low-Code at Solita.

For Solita, 2022 was a breakthrough year in low-code. We are now helping companies in e.g. healthcare sector, energy industry, and manufacturing to benefit from the new possibilities of low-code platforms. We were also selected to deliver one of the first low-code projects for the Finnish public administration at Finnvera.

After years of piloting, low-code is now being used also for business-critical solutions. As Gartner predicts, we see low-code solutions continuing to grow in popularity, especially in the development of e-services and the rapid digitalisation of businesses and processes.
