We started our company-wide remote working on Friday 13th of March. A #remotework channel was created on Slack, and since then our community has been sharing tips on staying sane and funny stories from their new remote working life. We asked a few of these people to share their stories and their “new normal”.
This is Patrik´s story.
What is your role?
I started at Solita in January this year as a Data Engineer, and am now working on a customer case of an architecture firm. Before Solita I have been working with Business Intelligence, and now I´m expanding my skills within data engineering and cloud platforms.
What’s your biggest passion(s)?
Strength training and physical training overall is a big passion of mine. Growing up and being involved in several sports, especially ice hockey, made me keep training throughout my life.
My interest for computers and technology has also always been there. The ability to create and automate solutions that are helping us or just creating cool stuff is very rewarding! The IT area is a fast paced industry that is constantly evolving which makes it very interesting.
What’s your most impactful experience at Solita so far?
I believe in continuous improvement, regardless of whether it’s for a customer, for Solita or myself. It´s about impact that lasts in the long run. So my impactful experience would occur every day, doing something valuable!
What brightens your #remotework day?
I like working remotely, I have done it several times even before the pandemic. It helps me concentrate and I believe I get more things done. However, I like changing environments, so I would prefer to combine working remote and on-site during the workweek. The good thing about remote work is flexibility, it’s easier to do small chores, to take a walk or workout during the day. A break from the screen can even increase productivity!
