This is Toke, our Managing Director in Denmark, jazz musician and rowing enthusiast.
I like the “outside the box” mentality in how we work
I’ve been leading the operations in Denmark since 2016 when Ferrologic was founded in Copenhagen. I’ve worked with pretty much everything from admin to sales and deliveries, and the entrepreneurial style of doing things has been very refreshing.
Now we are part of Solita, and things are changing so that I can focus more on the strategic goals and leadership. We are building and growing the Danish office, while we still collaborate smoothly with our co-workers from different countries to make sure that our client deliveries are successful.
What I really like about my job and our way of doing things is that we have a high degree of flexibility in providing solutions to real business problems. We can look at the challenges from different angles and be creative. It’s fun, and our clients often find us inspiring, because we come up with “outside of the box” solutions. With the comprehensive Solita offering behind us, we have even more possibilities to compose new solutions and bring value to our clients and society. We are the data company that creates impact.
My job is to inspire people to bring the best ideas to the table
I want to give people space and freedom to work in the way that is best for them. I understand both the business and the tech environment, which helps me to work with complex problems and see how our solutions can bring value to end-users and clients. My job as a leader is to inspire people to bring the best ideas to the table, support in elaborating these ideas and make an impact on the customer.
I like the fact that people have the courage to try new things at Solita. We explore new territories and try things out in pilot projects. It’s inspiring to come up with new and different solutions, and it keeps our employees one step ahead. I also personally love to do projects that we haven’t done before. By looking outside of our traditional business, we can find new opportunities and position ourselves in different contexts.
It’s nice to work in an atmosphere of trust
We’ve been working across borders since the beginning, but now with Solita, the international opportunities are multiplied, as we continue growing in Europe. I feel like the culture at Solita is very similar to what we had in Ferrologic. My co-workers are passionate and engaged, and their thinking is fresh and modern. People want to do the right thing and have an impact; our clients can feel that.
What I also really like is that people are so supportive and open. When you talk to a new colleague in the company, you often feel that you’ve known them for ages! There is this atmosphere of trust – you don’t need to earn it, but you get it from the start. Then it’s up to you if you show up and demonstrate that you are worth the trust.
Toke Friborg is a Managing Director of Solita’s Danish Community. The Community joined Solita’s workforce in November 2019 when Solita and Ferrologic formed a North European leader in data-driven digital transformation.
